"Mudder's Day"

Our "Mudder's Day" was a good one. My weekend began Friday by watching Ryder start 'scooting'! It looks like he is swimming in the floor! It is the cutest thing and a wonderful "Mudder's Day" surprise! Then, Saturday, Daddy and I rode to some plant nurseries to look at some flowers. He bought me some asparagus fern and begonias to go in some planters that I have at the end of my drive way! I love them! Then, he and Dusty weeded some in my flower beds!!! They are really looking great! Dusty helped the kids create a wonderful "Mudder's Day" card! It has both of their handprints on it! It is very, very special! Sunday, we went to Uncle Anse's church to hear him play the piano and sing "I Will Rise" by Chris Tomlin. It was great! He has some amazing musical ability! I haven't been to church in a long time because of all of my surgeries, so it was really nice to get out and visit!

I love my family so much and am so extremely blessed to be a Mother! I had an AMAZING Mother to teach me how to be a Mother! I miss her so very much! I love to wonder what she would be doing as a Grandmother right now with my precious babies! She was an incredible teacher and had an extreme love for God. I am so blessed to have had a Mother as wonderful as she was!

I hope every other Mother had a wonderful "Mudder's Day", too!

I just wanted to start a blog of the Ivy family to update everyone on our life!

Sydney Klaire is now 4 years old and a big, big girl! We can't believe she is growing so fast! She is such a sweet big sister. She loves her little brother so very much! She wants to kiss on him, hold him, hug him, feed him, etc. A great helper! She just performed in her first dance recital and loved every minute of it! She loves to dance!!! However, she has also started T-ball and we aren't so sure she loves that so much! She carries her glove around like a purse and runs like a GIRL (hehe)! She caught her first ball (or got it from the ground because no one else was watching) and hit the ball the first time the ball was thrown to her this last ballgame!! We only have 4 ballgames left! She is almost done with her 1st year in Preschool (3-4 yr old) and has learned so much. She also still has her imaginary friends....Edy and da Witch! She was riding in her jeep this weekend and I was trying to tune her radio. She said, "Excuse me, Mommie, Edy and da Witch are trying to get in!!" I mean the passenger door to the jeep was open and everything!!! She held her hand out to help them, too! We pray for them at night! They are part of the Ivy family as well!!!

Ryder is now 6 months old! He is the sweetest and cutest little baby boy anyone has ever seen (at least Mommie thinks so)!!! He is trying very hard to sit up. He loves to eat and is starting to eat from a spoon. I think he would eat anything you put in front of him....he loves applesauce, peas and peaches, so far. He also loves those little "puffs" that are disolveable! He says, "uhh" for more!!! He adores his big sister!!! Everytime she enters the room, his little face lights up with a smile!!! It is precious. He laughs at everything she does. He talks 'up a storm' and is even beginning to make some consonant sounds....to Dusty and Papa, it sounds like "dadadadada"....to me, on the other hand, it sounds SOOO SWEET!!! I'm sneakily trying to say "mamamamama" to him (hehe)! When I do that......HE LAUGHS!!!

Dusty has been very busy taking care of everything (well the things that Papa hasn't taken care of already....Papa is an amazing caregiver! Can't even begin to thank him enough!!). He has been such a wonderful husband during my surgeries! Yes, I said surgerieS. We are tired of being in the hospital. I had "herniated disc surgery" in February. I continued to have problems and went back and forth to the dr's office only to find that the disc had re-herniated and that I had a birth defect that could only be fixed with a "lumbar fusion". In March, I had an anterior/posterior lumbar fusion (had to go in through my tummy and back). This surgery fused 4 of my vertebra together (the fusion takes 3 months to fully take place). I'm slowly getting off of my walker and am finally starting to feel better. However, I had been having some pain in my right side.....only to find out that I had GALLSTONES!!! I had my gallbladder removed last Friday. I have been doing fairly well. I just feel like my insides have been ripped out at times. I guess they literally have! I WILL BE BETTER SOON!!!!!
